Shrek CookbookWell my dears, the results of the Great Shrek Cookbook Giveaway are in. There weren’t many entries (to busy NaBloPoMo-ing to enter were we?) so the choice was simple:

fufuberry and Frieda will each receive their own personal copy of the Shrek Cookbook (including the frogspawn jelly recipe). Thanks for entering darlings - fufuberry with the wacky cake reminiscence and Frieda with that sweet choo choo story.

The books are on their way to you this very moment!

heartWhile most of you know that November is National Blog Post Month (NaBloPoMo), did you know that it’s National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) as well? I find a strange irony in the knowledge that the Hollywood Writer’s Strike is taking place during a month when many bloggers and novelists are writing (or at least sharing their writing) more than they ever have.

Ahem - not that CrankMama has been participating in any of the aforementioned activities. I have however been reading until my eyeballs bleed, what with the plethora of awesome bloggers posting like speed is back in style and all.

Here are some of my favorite reads of late from good friends and newfound pals. Some have decided to participate in NaBloPoMo and others have decided to abstain. All are lovely and fabulous. Enjoy!

She Likes Purple has me quite envious of the 7.4 pounds she’s lost and has the best reason I’ve heard yet for not participating in NaBloPoMo - “I’m far too busy posting pictures of my shoes. And, what’s more, buying shoes to post pictures of”.

SusieJ has me drooling over homemade marshmallows and cute new clothes while finding time (somehow) to give great tips for toxic-free Christmas toys and minimizing grocery store angst.

Sex And The South is hosting the SheBlogs Carnival and also invited me to participate in a fun little game (which I SWEAR I’ll post very soon!).

Kill The Goat (who has me clutching my sides and gasping for air after reading almost anything she writes) slays me with her expose’ on Super Girl and Wonder Woman. BTW - she’s practically the only one writing about sex (specifically post-work screwing and takeout… ah the joys of life before children.)

Joyously Alive is participating in NaNoWriMo (you go girl!) and made me feel right at home with a post about loving Shakespeare and Hamlet. Yes Joy, I’m a Shakespeare geek too.

We interrupt this post to announce a BABY MELTDOWN in progress! Please standby. (I’ll be back soon with the rest of my list…)

UPDATE: The baby has been soothed and you may now enjoy the rest of the writers on my list here
