In August 2006 three CrankPots, Jessica, Elizabeth and Rachael got together over a glass (or two, but who’s counting) of wine to talk about a fun biz idea. It centered around a blog featuring a sometimes cranky, sassy, hip chick who’s a very good mom with a bit of an attitude!

We loved the idea that we could combine each of our talents to create a gathering place for folks to lighten up, get some comic relief, and have a healthy exchange of ideas around parenting and motherhood.

And so CrankMama was born.

She’s a little bit of all of us….. She’s you on a good/bad day…the day when your funny might be a little limp but still hanging on. She’s your sassy hip girlfriend who can really hit it, even in comfortable clothes. She’s your desire to be a mother and still be yourself, to love your kids passionately, without succumbing to the Frump.

We’ve had a few cranky moments, but overall it’s been a year filled with laughter and fabulous conversation that’s sparkled with new ideas. And along the way Rachael chose to leave CrankMama to pursue other interests.

So here we are. It’s one year later and CrankMama continues to be a creative, collaborative endeavor of multi-talented CrankPots. Thank you to everyone who has contributed along the way.

And if you recognize a little bit of yourself in CrankMama – you’re probably right!
