Today I went to the gym. THE GYM! I can’t even remember when I last set foot in a gym.

But, as I have now committed to working out 3 times a week, and I am a fair-weather walker (and we don’t get too much fair weather here in the winter) I thought I’d check out some other options.

Gold’s Gym gave me a one-day pass to check out their facilities - so I did.

The place was pretty nice and I liked that I could get the latest updates on last night’s primary while getting in my 20 minutes of cardio on the eliptical machine.

But…. well I just didn’t love it enough to spring for a year long membership.

So now what?

Well Sybil suggested yoga.

Holly suggested workout DVDs.

And Cami mentioned exercise balls.

yoga ball dvdSo what do you think of this? A Yoga Exercise Ball DVD!

Well I think it’s worth a try. (Especially if it gives me a body like that!)

I’ll keep you posted.

Pilates is the best! DVDs are a great way to see how you might like it but instruction is the best. I’ve only ever done mat pilates but I’m looking forward to trying the machine (which looks like a torture device - fun!) when I’m ready to start re-habbing my body post surgery. Good luck and keep it up!

That’s very creative use of a ball! I think it’s good for your back, though.
Good luck on the fit challenge. February’s a good month for it …. nice and short ;)
