moonstruck-poster.jpgI now have the full on flu (courtesy of Hubs) and let me just say that I’m miserable - what with the aching, fevered, congested, exhaustion of it all.

I remember getting sick in my single days and while the experience still sucked, there was no one else to care for.

I was free to spend an entire weekend in cozy PJs - curled up on the couch with soup, meds, kleenex, and the remote within easy reach. My only concern being which movie to watch next or when that decongestant would finally kick in. I might even drift off for an 8 hour “nap”….

*sigh*

This weekend’s agenda includes a house full of rambunctious kids, a husband who’s still in recovery mode, dishes, hockey practice, and homework checks - all while my head feels like it will explode at any minute.

While I wouldn’t trade my family, it’s times like these that I long for the ease of my single days, that cozy couch, and a movie marathon of the 50 Best Chick Flicks.

A girl can dream…

Get this. Last time I was sick my 17 year old son took care of me. I stayed in bed ALL day watching chick flicks (my favorite sick thing to do) while he checked on me regularly to ask me if I needed anything. I feel like all that mothering of sick people I’ve done for the last 17 years is finally paying off!

Maunie - I guess that’s another difference between Man Flu and Woman Flu. With Man Flu it takes a full week (or longer) to recover, all the while you expect to be waited on 24/7, even if your partner also feels like crap! With Woman Flu, you just have to get on with it…

Groovy Mom - Can I borrow your son for a few days…. pretty please?

I have got to rent Fried Green Tomatoes.

I HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER (or already do, as I’m just now catching up on some blogs).
