Today I went to the supermarket
And bought a bunch of flowers
I brought them home to my table
And stared at them for hours
- Katya Chorover, War Of The Day
I have time to myself this afternoon - the simple pleasure of uninterrupted hours. And while my options for filling the moments are endless, on a day when the sun shines and the smell of fresh cut grass drifts on the breeze, the most appealing involves a lounge chair by the flowerbeds. A little piece of Shangri La where I’m free to daydream as the sun soaks in, rejuvenating my spirit.
I’ve been told a vacation is the best medicine you can take… even if it’s just for an afternoon.
