When Lisa suggested meeting at BlogHer to sip martinis, it brought this to mind…Perfect by Jim Coudal. Jim is a fellow martini worshiper whose devotion to our favorite libation is clear. His recipe describes the mixing process as “the sacrament”…and for good reason. This martini is the most transcendent elixir you’ll ever experience. Move over holy water, Belvedere is here!
Follow the directions to the letter and you’ll enjoy the word cold in all its meanings. Unfeeling. Stoic. Mathematical. And at the end of a day from hell you can sign me up for un-feeling!
A word to the wise…sip cautiously. Too many tastes of perfection and un-feeling will be the last word to describe your morning.

Wait…Belvedere and holy water aren’t the same thing?
July 16th, 2007 at July 16, 2007 - 5:17 pmMmmmm. . . More than one of those and I KNOW I’m right on my asssssshhhhh. And then forget about stuffing the olives with the bleu cheese! Luckily, my fave cheese shop has those little babies ready to go, and the bleu cheese all squiggled in and pretty.
Now, if only this was followed by a “recipe” for disrobing your ManCandy . . . me likey the way this guy writes directions!
July 16th, 2007 at July 16, 2007 - 6:37 pmI loves me a martini! The blue cheese stuffed olives are the best. I know I’m in a nice restaurant if they put those in the martinis.
July 16th, 2007 at July 16, 2007 - 10:46 pmSorry, but I miss CM’s old style.
martini’s = martinis
it’s = its
One of the great things about this site was that it didn’t have a lot of the standard errors you find in the blogosphere.
July 17th, 2007 at July 17, 2007 - 9:50 amEven CrankMama makes mistakes. All fixed now. Thanks for the catch!
July 17th, 2007 at July 17, 2007 - 12:28 pmThe sacrament is right! A martini like that is definitely a religious experience!
July 17th, 2007 at July 17, 2007 - 2:03 pmIn response to Swampgrrl’s post… I LOVE the site and certainly don’t mind a grammatical error here or there. Lighten up! Keep up the great work Crankmama!!!
July 17th, 2007 at July 17, 2007 - 2:07 pmSorry to be anal. It’s an occupational hazard of being a teacher.
Looking forward to the new iteration of CrankMama!
July 17th, 2007 at July 17, 2007 - 6:23 pmVery fun site! Not a fan of the blue cheese or the olives…but a lavender or chocolate martini…all over that!
July 19th, 2007 at July 19, 2007 - 2:33 pmDid someone mention BlogHer and Martinis in the same sentence? Not without Bossy you don’t…
